Nobody in Wichita prints their junk removal prices. Call around and every company says "it depends, we'll send someone out." That's a sales tactic, not a pricing problem. Here's what it actually costs so you can decide before anyone shows up.
How the price is built
Every junk company prices by volume: how much of the truck or trailer your stuff fills. Weight matters only for heavy material like concrete, dirt, or shingles. Labor is built in. So is the landfill fee, or it should be. If a quote doesn't say "dump fees included," ask, because that's where the surprise comes from at the curb.
The national numbers
Across the country, a single item runs $130 to $150 as a minimum charge. A quarter truck is $150 to $300, a half truck $200 to $400, and a full truck $400 to $800. College Hunks, which is in Wichita, charges $350 to $500 for a half and $650 to $900 or more for a full, plus a $149 dispatch fee in many markets. 1-800-GOT-JUNK quotes on site only.
What we charge
Single item $149. Quarter load $249. Half load $379. Full load $649. A full load on our 16-foot trailer is about what a big junk truck carries. Loading, hauling, dump fees, and a sweep are inside every number. There's no dispatch fee and the price we text from your photo is the price you pay.
Why we're under the chains
No franchise fee, no call center, no two-man crew sitting in traffic between jobs. It's the owner, a truck, and a trailer. That's the whole overhead. You text a photo, I text a number, we're done.
What a DIY dump run costs
A trailer rental for the day, your Saturday, a friend's Saturday, and the gate fee at CDR, which charges at the gate. For a half-load pile that's usually a full weekend and a sore back to save a hundred dollars or so against our price. Some people like that math. Most people text us.
